2016 Adult Chamber Music Course

For pre-formed string chamber groups
with or without piano.

Friday, August 19, 2016

Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist
60 Kent Street, Saint Paul MN 55102

Presented by the Artaria String Quartet

Dear chamber music enthusiast,

The Artaria String Quartet (ASQ) invites you to join us in August for a day of intensive chamber music coachings and camaraderie in the beautiful setting of the Church of St. John on Summit Hill in Saint Paul. This is an opportunity for your group to receive the broadest expert advice on everything from dynamics, to bowings and fingerings, sound production, and techniques of chamber music playing that are unique to string players; through four concentrated one-hour coachings with each individual member of the ASQ. As well, our special guest artist pianist will provide insight into techniques that relate specifically to piano groups.

The day begins bright and early with a circle of introductions, proceeding to morning and afternoon coachings that take place in St John’s modern and comfortable climate-controlled spaces, and culminates in two late afternoon masterclass and performance sessions in St John’s gorgeous and ambient sanctuary.

The ACMS Adult Workshop can accommodate a limited number of pre-formed ensembles, so early sign up is recommended. Spread the word and click here for a group registration form, schedule, and course fees.
